Arsenal are reportedly planning to move for Liverpool's Arthur Melo should they fail to sign Youri Tielemans

Arsenal have identified Juventus star Arthur Melo, currently on loan at Liverpool, as a potential alternative for Youri Tielemans in the summer transfer window.

The Belgian has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent years, but should the Gunners decide to go a different route and ignore Leicester midfielder Tielemans, they have several replacements already in place.

Arthur is the latest to be linked with the Gunners, according to Football.London.

The 26-year-old joined Liverpool from Juventus on August transfer deadline day for the remainder of the season, but injuries meant he only played 76 senior minutes.

Arthur is yet to make his Premier League debut for the Reds, but after undergoing surgery to address his issues, he could still be useful ahead of his return to Italy at the end of the season.

CalcioMercato claims Arteta "really likes" Arthur and could be interested in bringing him to north London.
